Cobra Electronics Corporation has been manufacturing the best quality CB radios for many years.
Originally known as Dynascan Corporation, they are responsible for building the worlds first CB (citizens band) radio in 1963.
The corporate name change to Cobra Electronics Corporation occurred in 1993 when they listed on the NASDAQ.

CB radios and communication equipment has always been at the core of Cobra's business ... and more recently they have now entered into the marine electronics and mobile navigation markets.
The international headquarters for Cobra are in Chicago, Illinois ... and they now also boast international offices in Dublin, Ireland and Hong Kong.
The original base station CB radios that Cobra used to manufacture were halted in 1990's. This includes the ubiquitous Cobra 2000 GTL base station, and its "baby brother" the Cobra 146 GTL base station.
Manufacture still continues however on a full line of mobile CB radio products, including the Cobra 18 WX ST II, the Cobra 19 DX IV, the Cobra 25 LTD range, the very popular Cobra 29 LTD range, the 75 WX ST remote mount, and the massively popular Cobra 148 GTL.
